Without time-off context, ActivTrak relies on an Active Days threshold to estimate which days count toward productivity averages. That means a team member who works for a couple of hours on a PTO Friday could have that day counted as “active,” dragging their average productive hours from 8 hours a day down to 6.5 hours. Multiply this common scenario across an entire team during vacation season, and you may end up with dashboards in need of manual recalculations.

With the HRIS integration enabled, ActivTrak uses work schedules and approved time-off data together to determine Active Days automatically. Approved time off and non-scheduled days are excluded from averages, so your metrics reflect actual performance during scheduled work hours. The result is workforce intelligence you can act on without second-guessing the numbers.

A team lead who sees a 30% productivity dip no longer needs to escalate before discovering half the team was on approved PTO — the dashboard already accounts for it.
