Monitor

The ActivTrak monitor program scthost.exe runs in the context of each user session on a computer.  It is launched at login.

As the primary data collection piece of the ActivTrak system, the monitor program keeps track of the active window and retrieves the caption from the main window of the active application.  It then reports the caption text and application information to the ActivTrak service for recording in the workstation log and to any ActivTrak viewers on the network.

The ActivTrak monitor program also monitors keystrokes and mousemoves to detect when the user session is idle.
