Main Menu

The main menu bar gives you access to all of the ActivTrak Viewer functions.  A subset of functions, are accessible from the buttonbar or the context menu, but all are accessible from the main menu.

The File menu

• New
  • Net View
    • Local Subnet - creates a Net View of your local subnet.
    • Select Subnets... - opens a dialog that allows you to select subnets for a new Net View.
  • Session Track - creates a new Session Track window for the currently selected user session.
  • Snapshot - creates a new Snapshot window for the currently selected user session.
  • Workstation Log
    • Current Month - creates a new Log window for the workstation corresponding to the currently selected session showing data for the current calendar month.
    • Previous Month - creates a new Log window for the workstation corresponding to the currently selected session showing data for the previous calendar month.
    • List... - opens a dialog that allows you to select one or more months to include in a new Log window.
  • Log Analysis - creates a new Log Analysis window based on the currently active Workstation Log window.
• Open... - presents a dialog box for opening previously saved ActivTrak files of varying file types .
• Minimize to Tray - minimizes the Viewer to the notification area of the desktop. Especially useful for monitoring alarms in the background.
• Close - closes the currently active ActivTrak child window.
• Exit - exists the ActivTrak viewer.
• Domains... - opens a dialog box that allows you to select domains to be included in new Net Views.
• Save - saves the current child window parameter or data
• Save As... - saves athe current child window to another name or possibly to another file type.
• Send Message... - opens a dialog box that allows you to send messages to one or more users.
• Chat... - opens a messaging session with an individual user for two way communication.
• Agent Version... - reports the version of the ActivTrak agent currently running in the selected user session.
• Printer... - opens a dialog box that allows you to select the default printer and printing parameters.
• Print Preview... - previews a printed image of the current child window.
• Print... - opens a dialog to begin printing the current child window.
• Recent Files - allows you to reopen recently opened or saved files.

The Edit menu

• Cut - cut the currently selected records to the clipboard. Available only for the Workstation Log.
• Copy - copy the currently selected records to the clipboard.
• Paste - paste records from the clipboard to the currently active Workstation Log.
• Delete - delete the currently selected records from the active Workstation Log.
• Select All - select all records in the current child window.
• Deselect All - deselect all records in the current child window.
• Find... - open the Find dialog box to search for text in the current child window.
• Find Next - search for the next instance of the previously searched text.
• Find Previous - search for the previous instance of the previously searched text.

The View Menu

• Columns... - opens the Columns dialog box for sizing, rearranging, hiding, or showing columns.
• Save Column Format... - allows you to save the column format for the current child window type.
• Sort - opens the Sort dialog allowing you to sort data by column value.
• Filter - opens the Filter dialog allowing you to reduce record count or apply color highlights based on column value.
• Text Size
  • Small - set text size for current window and new windows to 'small'.
  • Medium - set text size for current window and new windows to 'medium'.
  • Large - set text size for current window and new windows to 'large'.
  • Extra Large - set text size for current window and new windows to extra large.
• Refresh - refresh the data in the current child window.
• Properties... - show information about the current child window.
• Show Local Subnet on Startup - set the option to automatically open a Net View of the local subnet when the Viewer starts.
• Set Double Click Action... - set the action that results from a double click on a computer record in a Net View.
• Buttonbar - show/hide the buttonbar.
• Statusbar - show/hide the statusbar.

The Snapshot menu

The Log Analysis menu

• Depth... - opens dialog box to set number of items to show in new Log Analysis windows.
• Expand All - expands all Applications and Websites in the current Log Analysis window.
• Collapse All - collapses all Applications and Websites in the current Log Analysis window.
• No Colors - removes color highlighting from current Log Analysis window for printing on a monochrome printer.

The Alarms menu

• Set Alarms... - opens the Alarms dialog box to set alarms based on data coming into a Net View or Session Track.
• Show History - shows the Alarm History child window.
• Clear History - clears records from the Alarm History window.
• Configure Email... - Sets the sender information for email alarms.
• Find Log Entry - Finds the Workstation Log record corresponding to an Alarm History record.

The Window menu

• Cascade - moves and resizes all open child windows to a cascading order.
• Tile - moves and resizes all open child windows to a tiled pattern.
• Arrange Icons - arranges the minimized child windows.
• Close All - closes all child windows.

The Help menu

• Contents - opens the ActivTrak help file and displays the contents page.
• Context Help - opens the ActivTrak help and displays information on the current ActivTrak window or menu selection.
• Download Agent - shows the ActivTrak Agent download page in the default browser.
• Check for Updates... - opens a dialog box that displays your current ActivTrak version and the latest available version.
• About ActivTrak - displays the ActivTrak viewer About box offers the opportunity to enter your license key.
