Alarms
Alarms may be set on Net View or Session Track windows to notify you of application use events on your employees workstations. To set alarms use Alarms Dialog which is opened my selecting "Set Alarms" from the Alarms menu or the buttonbar.
Alarms can be configured based on column values of incoming records. In fact, alarms can be configured for all of the same conditions for which filters can be created. You will find the dialog box functions for setting alarms is very similar to that for setting filters.
Because alarms are based on the data of records coming into the ActivTrak Viewer, the Viewer must be up and running, and the Net View or Session Track window associated with the alarm must be open in order for the alarm to be triggered. When monitoring alarms in the background it is useful to minimize the Viewer to the tray , i.e. the notification area.
Alarm notifications can be delivered in any combination of the following forms:
-
Popup messages at the ActivTrak Viewer
-
Popup messages at the user's workstation
-
Automatically generated snapshots
-
Email
-
Termination of the user application
In addition all incoming records triggering an alarm event are stored in the Alarm History.
